Schubert No. 8 - Unfinished
SCHUBERT NO. 8 (Unfinished)
For my production, I have chosen a Youtube video by the Franz Symphoniker, a French orchestra conducted by Philippe Jordan.
I have chosen the segment between 9:55 - 14:00.
I have split this segment into a number of acts that I believe will allow me to create a linear storyline and plot. While currently vague and lacking significant detail, these are the acts. They will form the foundation of my production and they are what I am currently building upon.
- 9:55 - 10:50 - ACT ONE (introduction)
This act will likely be dropped in lieu of the beginning. Depending on the details that are created around this piece, this act will serve primarily as framing and world-building for the production as a whole. - 10:41 - 11:47 - ACT TWO (beginning)
In this Act, you learn the character and how they interact with the world. This is the true beginning; the setting is developed, the character is brought to life, and the plot has yet to be touched upon. - 11:48 - 12:25 - ACT THREE (problems arise)
Drama, loss, agony, struggle - there is a cloud of grief. A problem has arisen in the life of the character. Something happens and they are afflicted by it. They try to continue normally, but the problem repeatedly brings them down. I liken it to losing a leg - the character tries to return to every day life as best they can, but they keep falling. - 12:26 - 13:00 - ACT FOUR (challenge!)
The character challenges the problems they face head-on. They try to fix it through extreme or comedic means. Success! They fix their problem, the challenge succeeds in remedying what is afflicting them! - 13:01 - 13:58 - ACT FIVE (conclusion)
The conclusion of the story. It ends on a high, with either things falling back apart or the character having grown and risen higher.
